Our Story

Combined the LGPS is one of the largest defined benefit (DB) schemes in the world and is the largest DB scheme in England and Wales with assets of over £342bn (source: LGPS Annual Report 2021 ).

London CIV is the largest pool by number of clients with 37% of the combined English and Welsh LGPS (32 out of 86 LGPS in England & Wales source: Nov 2020 HM Treasury: The Balance Sheet Review Report). 

The pooling together of London LGPS assets adds to the impact our Client Funds have on a wide range of stakeholders and London CIV takes its stewardship responsibilities seriously as described in the Responsible Investment section of our site.
