Response to the pooling consultation
Our response to the proposal for asset pooling has finally been sent to government. Given that the government now has higher priorities, it seems inevitable that having submitted plans for pooling the LGPS might now be left to get on with it but with valuations over the next couple of months, it’s unlikely things are going to quieten down anytime soon. You can download a copy of our response here (note, the annexes are not available online). For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org (020 7945 9968).
Investment Advisory Committee
Thanks to all of those of you who have come forward to sit on the Investment Advisory Committee (IAC), to which there was a really good response. The IAC is constituted of borough officers and sits alongside the Pensions CIV Sectoral Joint Committee, providing elected members with advice and recommendations about fund development.
Ian Williams (Hackney) as Chair of the Committee took the decision to make the committee as inclusive as possible, particularly in light of the fact that this next year is likely to be a very busy one for funds and possible investment strategy changes coming up following the actuarial valuation which may impact on the investments that the CIV looks to offer London pension funds. Key things on the agenda for the IAC include global equities, ESG, fixed income and infrastructure.
